A great tuning in experience.

On Tuesday 6th May 2008 at 9am the brilliance of Bob Bickerton could be heard at Pine Hill School. This was a whole school tuning in activity for our inquriy: Kaboom! Pop! Whistle! How do we make sense of sound.

To tune us in we had a performance by the talented Bob Bickerton. He brought along a variety of instruments and played each of them for the students. He also provided a great explanation of how each instrument created its sound. The students were exposed to a variety of musical instruments, some instruments they had seen before or knew of them, while others were very new to us.
Some of the instruments Bob Bickerton played was ...
A Kazoo, a guitar, a violin, irish bagpipes, a koauau, a harp, a flute, a tin whistle, a bottle, a pan pipe, a swany whistle, an accordion, a harp, a hand drum and we used our voices in song.

After the performance each class went back to their own rooms to reflect.
